Sung-Jin Kim graduated from the chemistry department of the Ewha Womans University in 1981 and received her master¡¯s degree from the same department.
From 1985 to 1989 she studied solid state chemistry at the chemistry department of the Iowa State University, USA, where she received her Ph. D in 1989.
She is currently a professor of college of Natural Sciences at the Ewha Womans University. She is a fellow of The Korea Academy of Science and Technology.
She is a board member of National Research Council of Science & Technology.The main research interests of Prof. Kim cover design, synthesis and investigation of
physical-chemical properties of metal clusters compounds, nanostructured materials, thermoelectric, solar cell, sensor materials and graphene.
Her studies have resulted in more than 280 scientific papers and 18 patents.
